WATERBURY, Conn. –The Post University women's volleyball team prepares for its final week of the regular season as the Eagles play host to three Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) teams and remain in contention for a home playoff seed. Post will welcome the Clippers of Concordia College to the Drubner Center on Tuesday, Nov. 4 scheduled for 7 p.m. The Eagles turn around to face the Golden Falcons of Felician College at the Drubner Center Wednesday, Nov. 5 at 7 p.m. Finally, the Eagles will round out their regular season at home on Saturday afternoon, Nov. 8 when they square off against the Tigers of Holy Family University for a 12 p.m. start.

Scouting the Opposition
Concordia enters the match at 3-14 in conference play and 4-15 overall on the season. The Clippers have won just one game on the road and are currently riding a two game skid, recently suffering a loss to Wilmington University. The Clippers will target first-year, outside hitter Sydney Darden (Marietta, Ga.) to make a difference offensively. Darden ranks fifth in the CACC in kills per set averaging 3.44. Felician will enter the Drubner Center having lost 13 straight matches. The Golden Falcons are 3-15 facing conference opponents and 5-18 overall. Holy Family enters the week in fourth place in the South Division with a 9-7 CACC record, and 11-16 overall. The Tigers have lost four consecutive conference matches and are 4-9 on the road thus far.

All-Time Series vs. Concordia
The Eagles have the advantage all-time against the Clippers, having won 9 of 15 matches. Post has recorded a 6-2 record at home against the opponent and will look to defend the Drubner Center on Tuesday, Nov. 4. As of late, the two teams have traded victories, but the Eagles intend to make it two in a row and complete the season sweep.

Although the Eagles were defeated twice by Felician last season, they eye redemption this year and go for their second consecutive win against the opponent on Wednesday, Nov. 5. The Eagles plan to build on their impressive 10-2 home record against Felician as well.

ECAC Honors
Sophomore Skylar German (Kansas City, Mo.) was named Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Player of the Week on Wednesday, Oct. 8. It's the first time this season she has achieved the honor. In three matches the week prior, German recorded team highs in kills (43), blocks (11), and hitting percentage (.458). Against Concordia, she had 12 kills on 19 attacks and no errors for an impressive .632 hitting percentage. It marked the fourth time this year she's hit over .600 in a game. In the Eagles' 3-2 loss to Dominican, German had 17 kills, 11 digs, and five blocks.

Rewriting The Record Books
Congratulations to senior Julia Slyaktina (Moscow Russia) who tallied 42 assists against the Caldwell University on Oct. 22 and passed Desere Obregon for sole possession of third place in all-time assists at Post! Thus far, Slyaktina has recorded 2,380 career assists. Taylor Doyle ranks second all-time with 3,102.

CACC Leaders
This season, German leads the CACC and ranks 17th in Division II with a .384 hitting percentage. She is also in the top-five in the conference in kills per set (3.80), blocks (55), and points (285.5).

Slyaktina leads the CACC in assists per set averaging 10.29 and ranks first in Division II in total service aces with 58 on the season.

Approaching Milestones
Emily Wilman could become just the third player to join the 1,000 kill-1,000 dig club this season. She sits 6 kills away from the milestone.

Preseason Prognostications
The Post volleyball team was picked to finish fifth in the CACC North Division in the Preseason Coaches' Poll. The Eagles earned 47 points, just two behind fourth-place Bloomfield. Caldwell and Wilmington were picked atop the North and South Divisions, respectively.

Playoff Picture
Entering the final week of the season, the Eagles sit in second place in the North Division of the CACC standings. With three conference games remaining against sub .500 opponents, the Eagles have an opportunity to win out and host a playoff game in the quarterfinal stage of the tournament Tuesday, Nov. 11. However, Dominican College is right at the heels of the Eagles, trailing by just one game in the loss column. Post is also within reach of the top seed in the North Division; the leading Caldwell University has two games remaining on the road. If the season ended now, Post, as the two-seed in the North Division, would match up against the third-seeded Philadelphia University in the South Division. The semifinal and final games will be held in Lakewood, N.J.
