Jay'Len Mahan (Waterbury, Conn.) got the Post University sprint football team off on the right foot on Friday night against Navy with a 92-yard kickoff return to open the game. The Eagles would not score against at Navy took the game by a score of 41-6.

On the first Navy possession of the night, the Eagles still seemed to have all the momentum. After the Midshipmen advanced down to the Post 42 yards line, senior
Vincent Dellefave (Montville, N.J.) forced and recovered a fumble.

After the Eagles punted on the ensuing possession, Navy took the lead as Joe Hampton found Warren Rooney from 13-yards out for a touchdown and a 7-6 lead. From there Wellmon took over, scoring twice in the first half to put the Midshipmen ahead 21-6 at halftime.

Post continued to struggle on offense in the third quarter, but finished the period with its best drive of the night. After blocking a punt, the Eagles took over on the Navy 41 and drove down to the 15 yard line before turning the ball over on downs. The Eagles recorded four of their nine first downs in that drive.

Navy scored its final touchdown of the night with 4:49 left in the game after recovering a Post fumble in the end zone. After the Midshipmen misplayed the point-after attempt, freshman
Eleodoro Perez (Chino, Calif.) picked up the loose ball and returned it to the end zone, but the play was negated by a Post penalty on the return.

Post was held to just 40 yards of offense compared to 387 for Navy. Junior
Anthony Jamele (Terryville, Conn.) led the way on defense with 8.5 tackles and two sacks.
