Box Score

WATERBURY, Conn. – The Post University men's basketball team won its third straight game on Wednesday night with an 81-60 victory over Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) North Division foe Felician. The Eagles improve to 5-11 overall and 5-4 in conference play.

Senior Derrick Strong (St. Louis, Mo.) was 6-of-8 from the field and led all scorers with 19 points and seven rebounds. Senior Stephen Perry Jr. hit three from distance on his way to 15 points. Senior Josh Tatum (Greenville, N.C.) and junior Mike Manning (Philadelphia, Pa.) had 14 points and 13 points, respectively.

Post never trailed on its way to victory. With the score tied 4-4 early, the Eagles staged a 17-7 run to jump in front 21-11 with 9:00 left in the half and never looked back. Manning scored five points during the stretch.

The Golden Falcons cut the deficit to seven with 4:32 left in the period, but Post answered back, outscoring Felician 12-2 to close out the half. Tatum slammed home a dunk off an off-the-backboard pass from Strong during the outburst. The Eagles led 36-19 at the break.

Post open the second-half strong as it built its lead to 49-28 with the help of three early three-pointers including a fadeaway from Perry Jr. off a baseline pass from senior Devin Willis (Seattle, Wash.). The Eagles led by as many as 24 points before it was over.

The Eagles had a season-low seven turnovers on the night and forced 15 which led to 12 points. Post outrebounded its opponent for the second-straight game and just the third time this year, leading the battle on the glass 40-34. The Eagles held a 40-24 scoring advantage in the paint and 14-6 in second-chance points.

Post is back in action on Saturday, January 25 on the road against CACC South-leading Holy Family. Tip-off is set for 3 p.m.
