Box Score Despite six saves by goalkeeper
Grace McConnell (Leeds, England), the Post Eagles women's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision to the Dominican College Chargers in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference matchup in Orangeburg, N.Y.
The Eagles (2-4, 1-2 CACC) had plenty of opportunities to score, but Dominican's Gina Yannette stopped all nine shot on goal attempts. Freshman
Valerie Moore (Bloomfield, Conn.) led the team with four shots on goal.
The game was a 0-0 standstill at halftime until Jamilyn Snyder of Dominican scored on an assists by Samantha Cala. It was Snyder's third goal of the season.
In the 72nd minute, Melissa Messina of Dominican (2-2-1, 2-1, CACC)Â snuck one past McConnell, for the game's final tally.
It was a physical game as Post racked up 11 fouls to Dominican's nine. Post had six corner kicks in the game, all of them coming in the first half.
Up next for the Eagles is their first home game in two weeks as they host Holy Family on September 29th at LaMoy Field in Waterbury, Conn. The game is slated for a noon start.
