WATERBURY, Conn. – The Post University sprint football team has high expectations heading into the 2013 season. The Eagles closed out 2012 with five straight wins, including a 29-21 victory over Franklin Pierce in the inaugural B&G Sports CSFL Talon Cup to close out the year. The schedule is highlighted by Post's first-ever home games at LaMoy Field beginning on Saturday, Sept. 14 against Cornell.

The Eagles finished 2012 with five straight victories on their way to a 5-2 record, the best season in program history. Post finished third in the Collegiate Sprint Football League (CSFL) in total offense at 315 yards per game and total defense at 262 yards allowed per game. The Eagles also landed 23 student-athletes on the All-CSFL team, including four first teamers. Senior
Daniel Awwad (Waterbury, Conn.), who had a team-high 478 receiving yards and seven touchdowns returns, along with senior
Christopher Lopez (Waterbury, Conn.) who led team with 7.5 sacks return.

Scouting the Big Red
Cornell finished fourth in the CSFL last season with a 4-3 record and was fifth in the conference in total offense and defense. The Big Red lost three of their last four, including a 13-6 defeat at the hands of Post. Cornell returns two First Team All-CSFL performers from a year ago in quarterback Brendan Miller and kicker John Rodriguez. Miller was second in the conference with 1446 passing yards and 114 completions.

The Eagles are 2-1 all-time against the Big Red and have won the last two matchups. Last season Post defeated Cornell with a touchdown in overtime. The Eagles stopped the Big Red on a 4
th-and-6 on the ensuing possession for the victory.

Homeward Bound
The 2013 season marks the first time Post will be playing a full home schedule at LaMoy Field. The Eagles have had just two home games in the previous three years and played every game on the road last season. Post is 1-1 all-time at home. Both previous contests were played at Municipal Stadium.

All-CSFL Honorees
Post shattered its school record as 23 student-athletes were named to the All-Collegiate Sprint Football League (CSFL) Team last season. Four received first team honors, including returning seniors
Daniel Awwad (Waterbury, Conn.),
Chris Masayda (Watertown, Conn.) and
David Boyle (Waterbury, Conn.). A total of 13 All-CSFL honorees return from a year ago.

Writing The Record Books
Senior
Rashaun Reid (Derby, Conn.) will look to become the second player in school history to amass 1,000 receiving yards for their career. He currently sits with 766 yards, 244 away from the milestone.
Daniel Awwad is the all-time leader in receiving yards with 1030 for his career. Awwad also sits on top with 55 career receptions, while Reid is second with 53 receptions.

Senior Chris Lopez (Waterbury, Conn.) comes into the season with 91.5 career tackles, 28.5 behind
Kyle Lagasse's school record of 120.0. Senior
David Boyle (Waterbury, Conn.) is tied with Lagasse atop the career interceptions list with four.

Chris Masayda team captains for 2013. All four have been a part of the team since its inaugural season in 2010. Boyle and Masayda were both named First Team All-CSFL a year ago. Lopez led the Eagles with 7.5 sacks. Murphy played in five games and made five tackles.
