BLOOMFIELD, N.J. - The Post University men's tennis team swept Bloomfield College 9-0 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) matchup on Tuesday afternoon in Bloomfield, N.J.
The Eagles came out strong by winning all three doubles matches. In third doubles, junior
Danny Bonamassa (Staten Island, N.Y.) and sophomore
Dreshawn Lewis (Norwalk, Conn.) had an easy win over Steven Hobart and Michael Beeson 8-1. Freshmen
Nicholas Tadros (Montreal, Canada) and
Jonathyn Young (Norwalk, Conn.) followed with a 8-2 win. Senior
Mateus Garcia (Sao Lourenco, Brazil) and sophomore
Peter Fanous (Cairo, Egypt) had a tough match against Morgan Lebeurre and Shimarhi Shular but pulled it out 8-5.
In singles action, Post claimed all six matches. Bonamassa held Jonathan Waters, 6-0, 6-0 in the sixth flight. Garcia surrendered only one game in win over Beeson, 6-0, 6-1. Fanous gave up two games at number two singles but took the match, 6-1, 6-1. In the first flight, Tadros beat Messam, 6-2, 6-1.
The Eagles face Bloomfield again on Thursday, April 4 at Edgewood Bath and Tennis. First serve is set for 3 pm.
