DANBURY, Conn. – The Post University men's tennis team lost its season-opener on Sunday, Feb. 17 to Saint Thomas Aquinas 7-2, at Danbury Sport and Wellness. Freshman
David Narovec (Linz, Austria) accounted for both of the Eagles victories on the day.
Narovec teamed with sophomore
Peter Fanous (Cairo, Egypt) in first-flight doubles to take down Antoine Venard and Stanislav Margarchenko, 9-8 (7). Sophomore
Dreshawn Lewis (Norwalk, Conn.) and senior
Mateus Garcia (Sao Lourenco, Brazil) fell 8-6 in their doubles match.
The Eagles other victory of the day came in first-flight singles as Narovec defeated Margarchenko, 6-4, 4-6 (10-3). Junior
Danny Bonamassa (Staten Island, N.Y.) fell in a close match to Alex Privalov, 6-4, 7-6 (4).
Post will be back on the courts again on Tuesday, March 5 against Malone University in Hilton Head, S.C. First serve is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
