Box Score
After taking an early 1-0 lead in the first half, the Post Eagles dropped a 2-1 overtime decision to Wilmington in a road game on Saturday.
The game started out on a high note, as
Alison Mrowinski (Syracuse, N.Y.) scored her first goal of the season after stealing the ball at the 18 yard box and putting it past goalkeeper, Julia Brown.
Post (4-5, 2-3 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference) Â was able to shut down the Wildcats for most of the game, as
Grace McConnell (Leeds, England) was able to rope in nine saves for the Eagles. But in the 82nd minute, Monica Weil took a shot from 25 yards out and was able to sneak it past McConnell, tying the game at one. It was the first goal of the season for Weil.
There would be no more scoring throughout the rest of regulation, but less than two minutes into overtime, Kim Richer received a cross from Rebecca Sowers and took a shot that was saved  by McConnell. However, Richer was able to get the rebound and put it in for her third goal of the season, and the game winner.
Wilmington (4-5-1, 4-2-1 CACC) outshot Post on the game, 13-12 and Brown had four saves for the Wildcats.
Tessa Dunster (Stamford, Conn.) tried to add to her hot streak, but did not get one of her five shots through. Dunster has six goals on the season.
Up next for Post is a three-game homestand, beginning with an October 9th matchup against Caldwell at 3 p.m.
