Post Women's Soccer Takes Down Philadelphia

Dunster Scores Again

Box Score

Waterbury, Conn. - A goal by Tessa Dunster (Stamford, Conn.) in the 52nd minute and solid second half defense was enough to give the Post University women's soccer team a 2-1 win over Philadelphia in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference game at LaMoy Field. The win puts Post at 5-6 overall and 3-4 in the CACC and closer to a CACC tournament berth.

With the score tied at one, the Rams were called for a penalty near midfield. During a set play, Stephany Cunha (Wallingford, Conn.) caught the Rams napping and found Dunster for a wide open shot at net, which she put past goalkeeper Courtney Shaw. The goal was Dunster's eighth of the season, which leads the CACC.

Dunster also contributed to the first goal of the game in the third minute. Her corner kick was placed perfectly and Ali Mrowinski (Syracuse, N.Y.) headed it in to the right side of the net to give the Eagles a 1-0 lead.

Philadelphia responded over 30 minutes later as Michaela Van Antwerp dribbled the ball down the field, and had a clean shot at net from 18 yards out and put it past Eryka Baez (Clifton, N.J.) to knot the score at one apiece.

Baez finished the game with six saves in just her second game in net. It was also the first win of her career. Shaw finished with seven saves for the Rams.

Up next for the Eagles is Bloomfield on October 15th at 3 p.m.
