The Post University men's basketball team will look to rebound from consecutive losses when it travels to Goldey-Beacom for a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest on Saturday afternoon. Game time is set for 3 p.m. Both coaching staffs will wear suits and sneakers in support of Coaches vs. Cancer in support of the American Cancer Society.
The Eagles have lost the last three head-to-head meetings with the Lightning, including a 74-63 defeat in the 2011 CACC semifinals. Prior to the skid, Post won 10 of the first 11 meetings in the series.

In a CACC contest that featured seven ties and 13 lead changes, Post dropped a 68-63 decision to North Division leader Dominican on Wednesday night at the Drubner Center. Junior
Jerry Cummings led the Eagles with 13 points and classmates
Devin Willis (Seattle, Wash.) and
Zach Krischer added 12 points apiece.
Over the first 3:39 of the contest, Post opened up a 13-4 advantage behind six points from Cummings. Krischer capped the spurt with a triple at the 13:33 mark. The Eagles grew their first half lead as large as nine points, 21-12, on a triple by sophomore
Braxton Gardner. Gardner's bucket came at the 9:16 mark.
Game-Winning Shots:
With less than 30 seconds to play in games over the last two years, Post has hit four game-winning shots. On Jan. 12,
Devin Willis hit the game-winning triple against Caldwell to put the Eagles ahead 58-57. Earlier in the season,
Jerry Cummings had a tip-in with 2.1 seconds remaining in overtime against LIU Post on Nov. 17. The final score was 73-72. Last season,
Zach Krischer hit three-pointers to give Post wins over Bridgeport (Dec. 19) and Queens (Jan. 2). Krischer hit the shot against Bridgeport with 14 seconds to play, while his triple against Queens came with two seconds remaining.

In Post's 18 games this season, four different players have eclipsed 20 points 13 times. Against AIC on Dec. 30, junior
Zach Krischer netted 30 points, the highest total to date this season. The last 30-point performance by a Post player was by Trevon Hamlet. He netted 32 points against Bloomfield on Feb. 17, 2010. Below is a list of all the 20-point performances this season.

When Post scores at least 70 points it sits at 10-1 this season while it is 0-3 when held below the threshold. In their victories the Eagles average 81.4 points per game. The team has netted a season-high 94 points in its last two contests. Post defeated Felician 94-70 on Dec. 19, and fell to AIC 96-94 in double overtime on Dec. 30. The output was the highest since the Eagles netted 99 points in a double overtime loss against Concordia on Jan. 19, 2011.

In the NCAA Division II statistics report released on Jan. 20, Post is ranked in the top 15 in the country in a pair of categories. The Eagles sit sixth in three-point field goals made per game (10.2) and 13
th in three-point field goal percentage (40.9).
Powered By Individuals:
Three Eagles' student-athletes are ranked in the top 50 nationally in six statistical categories.
Jake Wilcox leads the conference and is ranked seventh nationally with 6.7 assists per game. He is also 20
th in steals per game with an average of 2.61. Wilcox sits 34
th in assist-to-turnover ratio with a mark of 2.35.
Sarunas Jackson is ranked 15
th in blocks per game and deflects 2.2 shots per night.
Zach Krischer is ninth in the nation in three-point field goals made per game with a mark of 3.44 and he is 48
th in three-point field goal percentage. He is shooting 39.5 percent from beyond the arc this year.
Eight Straight Wins:
After its season-opening loss to Molloy on the road, Post won eight straight contests, including four at home. The winning streak is the longest under head coach
Al Sokaitis and it has matched the longest in the program's NCAA Division II history. The streak was snapped in a 70-66 overtime defeat against CACC foe Chestnut Hill on Saturday, Dec. 8.
Career Day In First Collegiate Start:
Freshman
Gediminas Juozapavicius made an impact in his first collegiate start against Bloomfield on Jan. 3, as he netted a career-high 13 points on 5-for-10 shooting from the field. He played a season-high 26 minutes against the Deacons.
CACC Player Of The Week:
Junior guard
Stephen Perry was named the CACC men's basketball player of the week on Tuesday, Nov. 27. In a pair of Post home wins, Perry shot 10-for-15 from three-point range and 11-for-18 from the field as Post collected home wins over Concordia and Queens last week. He netted 22 points in the team's second straight CACC win, an 87-70 decision over Concordia, to open the season, including six triples made. Perry rounded out the week with a 5-for-7 performance from the floor as he scored 15 points against Queens in an 83-67 win. For the week, he shot a perfect 5-for-5 at the foul line and averaged 18.5 points per game in the victories.
Double-Doubles:
This season,
Jerry Cummings has notched four double-doubles. He has notched double-digit points and rebounds in each of the last two games. In the Eagles' first win, a 79-78 overtime victory over Queens, Cummings turned in 23 points and 10 rebounds. Against Wilmington on Dec. 1, he netted 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in Post's 80-60 win over CACC foe Wilmington. On Jan. 9, he netted 12 points and snatched 10 rebounds as the Eagles swept Nyack for the third straight season. On Jan. 12, he tied for the team lead in scoring with 16 points and 13 rebounds.
Dialed In From Distance:
Over a seven-game span from Nov. 14 – Dec. 4, the Eagles are shooting 48.1 percent (90-for-187) from three-point range. During the stretch, Post did not shot less than 43 percent from three-point range. The Eagles hit a season-high 16 triples and shot 64 percent from beyond the arc in an 86-48 win at Nyack on Nov. 14. As a team, Post has shot greater than 50 percent from distance in three games during the stretch.
All-Time Series With Goldey-Beacom:
Despite losses in the last three head-to-head meetings, Post holds a 10-4 advantage in the all-time series with Goldey-Beacom, one that dates back to 2003. Prior to the three-game skid, the Eagles had won 10 of 11 to begin the series.

Scouting the Lightning:
With an overall record of 5-13 and 2-8 in conference contests, Goldey-Beacom has dropped six straight contests and has lost the last seven conference games it has competed in. The Lightning shoots 41 percent from the field, 27.9 percent from three-point range and nets 69 points per game. Individually, Goldey-Beacom is led by reigning CACC Player of the Week A.J. Picard who poured in 38 points, including 25 in the second half as the Lightning dropped a 105-99 decision to Chestnut Hill on Jan. 15. Marcus Porter is the squad's leading scorer with 15.9 points per game.
The Last Meeting: Jan. 28, 2012 – Goldey-Beacom 67, Post 62
Post dropped a 67-62 decision to Goldey-Beacom in CACC contest on Saturday afternoon at the Drubner Center.
Zach Krischer scored a team-high 17 points and shot 5-for-9 from three-point range.
Over the last two games, Krischer has shot 9-for-16 from distance and made a season-high five triples against the Lightning. He has led the Eagles in scoring in each of the last two games. Seniors

James Lee added 13 and 11 points, respectively.
The Lightning opened the second half on a 20-5 run over 7:14 to start the stanza. The spurt erased an 11-point halftime lead for Post. Following the run, Goldey-Beacom held a 41-37 advantage with 12:46 to play.

Receiving Votes:
For three straight weeks, Post received votes in the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Top 25. On Dec. 11, the Eagles garnered four votes and were 28 votes behind #25 Alaska-Anchorage. Post began receiving national consideration on Nov. 27.

Internationally Known:
Post men's basketball head coach
Al Sokaitis was named the Tanzania national head coach of the men's and women's basketball programs on Aug. 29. The goal is for the country to qualify for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio.
Preseason Prognostications:
The Eagles were tabbed to finish third in the North Division of the CACC Preseason Coaches' Poll, which was released on Monday, Nov. 12. Post totaled 59 points and one first place vote from the league's 13 head coaches. Sokaitis' team was picked behind Bloomfield and Dominican in the North Division.
On The Horizon:
The Eagles will travel to Felician for a CACC North Division contest on Tuesday, Jan. 29, at 8 p.m. Post won the last meeting between the two teams, a 94-70 decision at the Drubner Center on Dec. 19. The Eagles have defeated the Golden Falcons in each of the last six head-to-head meetings.
