PHILADELPHIA – The Post University women's soccer team lost a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest to the league's preseason favorite, Philadelphia University, 3-0 on Saturday afternoon on the road. The Eagles were outshot 26-5 in the contest, while the Rams held a 9-1 edge on corner kicks.
Philadelphia (4-2, 4-0 CACC) grabbed the lead in the 39
th minute on a goal by Chelsea Ridell. Ridell finished a free kick by Danielle Warfel with her head. The shot went beyond the reach of Post goalkeeper
Grace McConnell (Leeds, England). The Rams held a 1-0 advantage at the intermission.
Post (0-6, 0-4 CACC) allowed a pair of Philadelphia goals in the final 10 minutes of the match to arrive at the 3-0 final score. The Rams got tallies from Melissa Copeland and Kristen Ferguson to remain perfect in CACC play this year.
The Eagles will be back on the pitch on Monday, Sept. 17, when they host NYIT at 4 p.m. The match will be played at LaMoy Field. Admission to all Post soccer matches is FREE and open to the public.
