WATERBURY, Conn. – For the second consecutive game, the Post University women's soccer team seized a first half lead on the strength of a
Sabrina Sinopoli (Watertown, Conn.) goal, but the Eagles allowed five unanswered goals and fell to Dominican in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match on Tuesday at LaMoy Field. The final score was 5-1.
Sinopoli scored her second goal in as many matches in the seventh minute to open the scoring for Post (0-5, 0-3 CACC). Freshman
Nicole Martino (Watertown, Conn.) served a ball into the box on a bounce that went over the head of a Dominican (1-3, 1-1 CACC) defender and found Sinopoli. The assist marked the first collegiate point for Martino.
The Chargers grabbed a 3-1 lead by the intermission after it converted two penalty kicks and an own goal by the Eagles.
Dominican added goals in the 52
nd and 65
th minutes to arrive at the final score.
In the match, the Chargers held a 21-10 advantage in shots, including a 14-5 margin in the opening half.
Post will travel to CACC preseason favorite Philadelphia for a conference contest on Saturday, Sept. 15. First touch is scheduled for noon.
