DANBURY, Conn. – The Post University men's tennis team lost its spring opener to the #48 University of District Columbia Firebirds on Friday afternoon, 9-0. Among the highlights for the Eagles were freshmen
Peter Fanous (Cairo, Egypt) and
Christ-Brian Amedjonkeou (Queens, N.Y.) at first and second singles, respectively.
Fanous battled Aleksandar Grabovac before he fell 6-4, 6-3 at the top spot in the lineup, while Amedjonkeou played a tough first set against Tomas Gajdusek at second singles. Amedjonkeou fell 7-5, 6-0.

Mateus Garcia (Sao Lourenco, Brazil), sophomore
Danny Bonamassa (Staten Island, N.Y.) and senior
Markeese MCleod (Waterbury, Conn.) rounded out the singles lineup for Post (0-2).
In doubles, Fanous and Lewis fell to Grabovac and Simon Andersson at the top spot, 8-3.
The match was played at Danbury Sport & Wellness.
The Eagles return to the courts on Thursday, March 15, when it travels to Pace for a dual match. First serves are scheduled for 3 p.m.
