Chestnut Hill Hands Post 9-0 Loss In CACC Opener

Men’s Tennis Drops Fourth Straight; Still In Search Of First Point Of Spring

MIDDLEBURY, Conn. – The Post University men's tennis team dropped its fourth straight match, a 9-0 decision to Chestnut Hill, in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) opener on Friday afternoon. The match was played at Edgewood Bath & Tennis Club in Middlebury. Junior Mateus Garcia (Sao Lourenco, Brazil) performed well at third singles, but fell 6-2, 6-4.
 
Garcia fell to Manuel Ceniceros, and was the final singles match to be completed on the day. Freshman Christ-Brian Amedjonekou (Queens, N.Y.) dropped a 6-0, 6-1 decision to Mike Humes at first singles to clinch the win for the Griffins.
 
Chestnut Hill, which is ranked seventh in the East Region according to the most recent Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) rankings, improved to 4-3 overall and 1-0 in conference matches. The Eagles are 0-4 overall and 0-1 in the CACC.
 
Post will continue CACC play at Bloomfield on Tuesday, March 20, at 3 p.m.
