Eagles Fall At Pace In Dual Match 9-0

Post Competes At Second And Third Doubles; Falls To 0-3 On Season

BRIARCLIFF, N.Y. – The Post University men's tennis team suffered a 9-0 setback at Pace University on Thursday afternoon in a dual match. The Eagles competed well at second and third doubles, and fell 8-5, and 8-4 respectively.
 
At second doubles, freshman Christ-Brian Amedjonekou (Queens, N.Y.) paired with junior Mateus Garcia (Sao Lourenco, Brazil). The duo fell to Mattia Pastore and Brett Ringelheim of Pace, 8-5. In the third doubles matchup between Post's Mark Risbridger (Southampton, England) and sophomore Danny Bonamassa (Staten Island, N.Y.) and Pace's Vinnie Birkenmeyer and Andrew Feola, the Setters' tandem prevailed 8-4.
 
In singles action, freshman Dreshawn Lewis (Norwalk, Conn.) was defeated at second singles by Nguyen Khang Dinh 6-3, 6-1. Senior Markeese MCleod (Waterbury, Conn.) won the most games by any Post (0-3) player at fifth singles. MCleod dropped a 6-3, 6-2 decision to Ringelheim.
 
With the win, Pace moved to 1-7 on the year.
 
Post will return to the courts on Friday, March 16, when it begins Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play against Chestnut Hill at Edgewood Bath & Tennis Club in Middlebury. First serve is slated for 3 p.m.
