LAST TIME OUT: POST 13, CORNELL 6 (OT)
Freshman quarterback Shawn Boose guided the Post University sprint football team to its second overtime victory of the season with a one-yard run to give the visitors a 13-6 victory at Cornell on Friday night in a Collegiate Sprint Football League (CSFL) game. With the win, the Eagles improved to 4-2 overall and in the CSFL and ensured its first winning season in program history. Additionally, first year head coach Michael Mannetti became the program's all-time leader in wins.
Boose finished the contest with a game-high 132 yards, which marks the third 100-yard output in program history. He scored the game's lone touchdown in the extra session. Defensively, Post did not surrender a touchdown for and it allowed less than 155 yards for the second time this season. The Eagles held the Big Red to negative five yards rushing and 158 yards passing. Post turned in season-highs in tackles for loss with 12 and quarterback sacks with five. Freshman Vincent Fumarola led the defense with 7.5 tackles, including two stops in the backfield.
CSFL HONOREES IN EACH OF THE LAST THREE:
On Thursday, senior kicker Peter Cleary was named the CSFL Special Teams Player of the Week. The award marked the third straight week a Post player picked up a weekly award. Cleary converted two field goals and an extra point in the 13-6 overtime victory over Cornell. The previous two conference honorees are listed below:

IN THE LEAGUE RANKINGS:
As a team, the Eagles are ranked third in the CSFL in team defense and allows 278 total yards per game. The unit only trails CSFL unbeatens Army and Navy. The Post offense is second overall and amasses 316 yards per game.
Individually, Dwayne Carter is ranked fourth among quarterbacks in passing with 721 yards and seven touchdown passes. Kyle Lagasse sits second in tackles with 57 on the year.Â
SINGLE-GAME TOUCHDOWN RECORD:
The Post offense was paced by a single-game record three touchdowns by senior Daniel Awwad in Post's 48-27 triumph at Penn last week. He reeled in touchdown receptions from 35, 29 and 13 yards as he notched the second straight 100-yard receiving game for the Eagles. He totaled five catches for 122 yards.
POST-FRANKLIN PIERCE SERIES:
Saturday will mark the first all-time meeting between Post and Franklin Pierce in sprint football. The teams will play for the B & G Sports CSFL Talon Cup and the winner will retain the cup for the year.
SCOUTING THE RAVENS:
In its first season of varsity competition, Franklin Pierce sits at 1-3 overall. The lone win came by virtue of a 21-14 decision at Princeton on Oct. 12. Quarterback Tyler Matthews is the signal caller for the Ravens. He is 51-for-107 with four touchdowns and 10 interceptions. DJ MacDonald is the team's leading rusher with 265 yards and three touchdowns. He averages 3.3 yards per carry. Defensively James Willette and Connor Rogowsky have tallied 38 and 35 tackles, respectively.
ALL-LEAGUE PERFORMERS RETURN:
Of the nine Post players selected to the All-CSFL teams last season, seven of them are back on the Eagles' roster this season. Post returns First Team All-CSFL tight end Rashaun Reid, and second team choices Dwayne Carter (QB), Daniel Awwad (WR), Kyle Lagasse (LB), Christopher Lopez (LB), Matt Santos (DL), and Charles May (DL).Â

DIVERSE GEOGRAPHIC MAKEUP:
Of the 50 student-athletes on the Post University roster, 11 different states are represented, including 26 from Connecticut, six from California, five from New York, three from Georgia, two apiece from Florida and Texas, and one each from Alaska, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Puerto Rico and Virginia. There is also one international player from Ireland.
TRAVELING BAND:
After its Allegiance Bowl matchup with Army, Post will play the final six games of the season on the road. The Eagles are 6-7 all-time on the road. Post earned wins at Princeton in 2010 and 2012 and at Cornell to open the 2011 season. The 33-18 win over the Tigers in 2010 marked the first in program history, while the 25-20 triumph opened 2011 against the Big Red. Two weeks ago the Eagles earned their first overtime victory with a 32-29 triumph at Princeton.
