PHILADELPHIA – Behind the strength of a single-game record three touchdowns by senior wide receiver
Daniel Awwad (Waterbury, Conn.), the Post University sprint football team earned its third straight win on Friday night. The Eagles bested the University of Pennsylvania 48-27 in a Collegiate Sprint Football League (CSFL) contest at Franklin Field.

Michael Mannetti tied the program record for wins, and Post is on its longest winning streak in program history, a three-game stretch. The team set a single-season record for wins with three. Additionally, the victory marked the first all-time against the Quakers, and moved Post to 1-2 in the series.
Individually, Post (3-2, 3-2 CSFL) had its second 100-yard receiver in as many games as Awwad finished the night with five catches for 122 yards and three scores. He amassed 273 total yards as he added 115 yards on two punt returns and a 36-yard kickoff return. Offensively, freshman quarterback
Shawn Boose (San Diego, Calif.) went 5-for-6 for 128 yards and two touchdown passes. Boose was also the team's leading rusher with 38 yards on six attempts.

Kyle Lagasse (Waterbury, Conn.) led the Eagles with six tackles apiece. Junior
Brendan McWeeney (Watertown, Conn.) notched his first interception of the season and tacked on an 18-yard return.
After Penn's Whit Shaw returned the opening kickoff 95 yards to give the Quakers a 7-0 lead, freshman
Jay'Len Mahan (Waterbury, Conn.) quickly tied the game at 7-7 as he ran back the ensuing kickoff 97 yards for the first Post score of the night.
Sophomore quarterback
Dwayne Carter (Anchorage, Alaska) lifted the Eagles to a 14-7 lead with 11:35 to play in the first half after a six-yard touchdown rush. The two-play scoring possession was set up by a 67-yard punt return by Awwad.
After the Quakers pulled within one with 33 seconds left in the opening quarter, the Eagles scored the final 14 points of the half on a three-yard run by freshman
Keith Johnson (Baytown, Texas) and a 29-yard catch by Awwad from Boose. Post held a 28-13 halftime lead. The Penn (2-3, 1-3 CSFL) touchdown snapped a stretch of 85:18 in which the Post defense had not allowed a touchdown.
The Eagles grew their lead to as many as 21 points on Awwad's second touchdown catch of the night. He capped a five-play, 48-yard drive with a 35-yard touchdown reception from Carter. His record-setting third touchdown catch of the night came on a 13-yard pass from Boose with 50 seconds remaining in the third stanza.
As a team, the offense went 11-for-13 on third down and outgained Penn 413-313. Post went 4-for-6 inside the red zone. Defensively, Post held Penn to 5-for-14 on third down conversions and 0-for-2 on fourth downs. The Eagles held Quakers' running back Mike Beamish, the second leading rusher in the CSFL to 61 yards on the night, an average of 3.6 per carry. Entering the contest, Beamish averaged 6.7 yards per attempt.
Post will aim for its fourth straight win when it travels to Ithaca, N.Y., for a CSFL contest at Cornell. The Eagles and Big Red will square off on Friday, Oct. 26, at 7 p.m.
