Box Score

LAFAYETTE HILL, Pa. – The Post University women's soccer team lost a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest at Chestnut Hill on Saturday afternoon. The final score was 2-1. Sophomore Eryka Baez (Clifton, N.J.) netted her first goal of the season, and second of her career in the 49th minute.

With Post (4-9, 3-7 CACC) behind 2-0 at the half, Baez converted her first tally of the season at the 48:24 mark. Senior Sabrina Sinopoli (Watertown, Conn.) crossed the ball to the center of the pitch where Baez beat Chestnut Hill goalkeeper Jessica Veazey to pull the Eagles within one. Despite two shots on goal by senior Brianna Docimo (Shrewsbury, Mass.) and junior Brina Yanez (West Haven, Conn.), Post could not find the equalizer.

The Griffins got on the board in the 16th minute on a Carly DiGiovanni goal. Chestnut Hill (6-8, 6-3 CACC) grew its lead to 2-0 when Marykate McShane scored off a rebound in the 37th minute.

Chestnut Hill held a 20-14 advantage in shots, but powered by four corner kicks in the second half Post and Chestnut Hill each had five in the match. Individually, junior goalkeeper Grace McConnell (Leeds, England) made five saves for Post in the loss. Veazey tallied four stops for the Griffins.
