Annapolis, MD (September 30, 2011) Despite holding Navy to a scoreless third quarter, the Midshipmen blanked the Eagles 37-0 at Navy-Marine Corporal Stadium in Annapolis Friday afternoon. The Eagles fall to 1-1 in the CFSL, while Navy improves to (3-0, 2-0 CFSL)

Navy, a team that averages 432 yards of offense per game came out firing defensively. The Eagles started with the ball and after Mike Chance made a 17 yard kick-off return, play started at the Post 47 yard line. Quarterback Erich Broadrick completed a 19 yard pass to Dashawn Wingate moving the ball to the Navy 34.

On the same drive on 4th and 12, Dan Awwad faked the punt and passed left side to Frank Danay, but Danay was unable to hang on turning the ball over at the Navy 36. Nine plays later, with the help of running back David Williams, Navy was in the end zone.

It would be the first of only two touchdowns in the first half as Navy held a 13-0 first quarter edge.

The Eagles held Navy to a three and out defensive stand to open the second quarter, but on 3rd and 11 Broadrick's pass was picked off. The Midshipmen started the next drive on the Post 35 and advanced the ball quickly as Williams scored making it 20-0.

On the next play, Chance made a 24 yard return before the ball was stripped from him and recovered by Navy's Ale McGlaughlin. Navy went on to score five plays later making it 27-0.

Just before the half ended Navy's Adri Montecinos kicked a 22 yard field goal making it 30-0 at the half.

In the third quarter, the Eagles came out very strong defensively. Navy started with the ball and on 4th and 6, Jason Carlino recovered a Michael DeLong fumble. The Eagles would hold Navy to only 68 yards in a scoreless third quarter.

At the end of the third quarter, things started going the right way for the Eagles when Justin Valazquez picked off a pass on the Post eight and returned the ball for five yards.

With Dwayne Carter in as quarterback for the Eagles, he rushed for 16 yards on the first play of the fourth quarter, but Post would only advanced to their own 35.

Navy scored on the next drive in what would be the last touchdown of the game setting up a 37-0 final.
Post held Navy to only seven second half points in the loss.

The Eagles were led by Hendricks and Carter with 27 and 25 yards of offense respectively. Both Tony Simpson and Wingate caught passes for a total of 19 yards. Chance had 105 yards on kick returns.

Defensively Kyle Lagasse was strong with nine solo tackles for a total of 13. Chris Lopez had eight total stops.

Navy kept the Eagle defense on the field for 35 minutes, yet held them to one touchdown under their scoring average for the season.

Next week the Eagles make a return trip to Philadelphia to take on Penn, the site of Post University's first sprint football game. Game time is set for 3:00pm
