Eagles tennis knocks off Mitchell, 5-4

 WATERBURY, Conn. (April 6, 2011)-- The Post University men's tennis team went on the road and knocked off Mitchell College in impressive fashion Wednesday afternoon, winning 5-4.

The Eagles (2-7) started the match by taking two of the three doubles points. Markeese Mcleod (Stamford, Conn.) and Alamin Ripon (Bristol, Conn.) won at the No. 2 spot by a score of 8-6 while the team of Mark Risbridger (Southampton, England) and Michael MacDonald (Stamford, Conn.) won 8-5.

 Rocco Devona (Waterford, Conn.) and Tyler Engleberg (Niantic, Conn.) picked up the lone doubles point for Mitchell with an 8-3 victory at the top position.

Post University sealed the victory by winning three of the six singles matches.

Caio Rodriguez (Suzano, Sao Paulo, Brazil) handed Mitchell sophomore Rocco Devona his first collegiate loss at the No. 1 spot in straight sets (6-3, 6-3). Ripon was also victorious at No. 3 against Mitchell 
senior Adam Samuels (New Rochelle, N.Y.).

The Eagles return to the courts April 9, when they travel to Caldwell College to take on the Cougars.
