WATERBURY, Conn. (April 11, 2011)---Caio Rodriguez and
Danny Bonamassa each came up with impressive singles victories, but the Post University tennis team lost to American International College, 6-3, on Monday in Amherst, Mass.
Rodriguez barely broke a sweat in his victory, cruising to a 6-1, 6-0 win over AIC's Jakub Simicek.
Bonamassa provided a little more drama in his match, outlasting the Yellowjackets' Jake Anderson, 6-1, 6-7, (6-8), 11-9, in an epic four sets.
The Eagles also claimed a doubles victory, as Alamin Ripon and Markeese McLeod defeated Alex Touhey and Eric Stutman, 8-3.
Bonamassa and Rodriguez nearly pulled off the singles/doubles sweep, falling to Robert Lubold and Nick Lyon, 8-6 in a closely contested match.
The Eagles return to the courts on Wednesday, when they host Concordia College at Chase Collegiate in Waterbury.
