WATERBURY, Conn (February 25, 2011) Saturday Post University will host USP for the final regular season home game of the season. The Eagles will honor the seniors on both the men's and women's team. The women's game is set for 1pm with the men to follow at 3pm.
Women's Basketball:
Saturday, Post University (8-17, 6-12 CACC) hosts the USP Devils (20-5, 15-3 CACC) for senior day. Last time out for the Eagles it was a hard fought home loss to Caldwell 66-62. Post University led most of the first half, but the game was tied heading into the break. The second half saw the lead change hands 10 times.
Monique Chance brought her “A” game against Caldwell with career-high15 rebounds and nine points. Traditionally Chance tends to play her best at the end of the season. Last season she averaged 8.3 points per game, but in the final five games she scored 14 per game.
Last time out for USP it was 60-51 home loss to Holy Family. The Devils boast one of the best guards in the CACC in senior Caitlyn Shaw who averages 20.0 points and 9.7 rebounds per game. Shaw leads the conference in scoring, is ranked 8th nationally, and has been named CACC Player of the Week three times this season.
Men's Basketball:
The Eagles (15-10, 13-4 CACC) host the USP Devils (12-11, 7-9 CACC) Saturday at the Drubner Center. The Eagles are coming off an 81-78 victory over Caldwell at home Wednesday night. Geraldo Fernandez hit a game winning three from the left wing with 2.2 seconds to play extending a six game win streak. Over the last decade it is the Eagles third longest win streak.
Fernandez has only played 13 games since transferring into Post midway through the year. He averages a team leading 13.5 points per game and complimented by 4.7 rebounds. Fernandez shoots 43.5% from the field.
Post University forced 22 turnovers in Wednesday's game against Caldwell.
USP defeated Holy Family at home 86-80 Wednesday. Their leading scorer is Adewale Adefemi with 16.6 points and 10.2 rebounds per game. Last time out against Holy Family, Adefemi had 21 points and has been named CACC player of the week once this season. The Devils are the fourth ranked team in the CACC South and will travel to Goldey-Beacom for the first round of post-season tournament.

Saturday's game is the final game among all CACC schools in the regular season. Post is locked into the number two seed and will host Dominican Tuesday March 1 at the Drubner Center. Game time is set for 7pm.
