The Post University men's basketball team hopes to continue their hot play as they travel to face Bloomfield on Thursday night. The Eagles are coming off a hard fought 83-71 victory over Felician on Saturday.
Scouting The Deacons
Bloomfield has been playing well as of late as they have won four of their last six games after starting the season off 0-3. Their most recent victory came in a nail-biter over Dominican, 61-58, for their first CACC victory of the year. Terry Hicks leads the Deacons in scoring with 15.4 ppg. He has made 31 three-pointers on the season, good for first in the conference. Bloomfield is great on the glass averaging a conference-leading 40.6 rpg.
Series History
The two teams split a pair of games last season with each team winning on their home court. Early in the season the Eagles traveled to Bloomfield and fell 89-81, Reggie Holding led Post with 17 points and seven rebounds in defeat. The then conference-leading Deacons came to Drubner later in the season and fell 86-72, as Post had a well-rounded effort with five players in double-digit scoring.
Lockdown Defense
Over the past few games the Eagles have really cracked down on the defensive side of the ball as they are creating turnovers and limiting their opponents' scoring chances. Against Felician, Post caused a season-high 26 turnovers and had 11 steals. In the loss to C.W. Post they stole the ball 15 times. In those two games Post has outscored their opponents off turnovers 53-23.
