PHILADELPHIA, PA (December 10, 2011) Strong second halves by
Josh Lopez and
Zach Krischer powered Post University over USciences 63-55 on Saturday afternoon. After dropping their first five games of the season, the Eagles have rebounded to win two of their last three.
After a brief 2-0 deficit, the Eagles took the lead 4-2 two minutes into the game and never looked back. Midway through the first half, three pointers by Krischer, Lopez, and
Geraldo Fernandez pushed the Post lead to 26-15. The Eagles went cold for the final few minutes of the half and let the Devil creep back in and cut the deficit to 28-24 at halftime.
Post jumped back out to a 10 point lead three minutes into the second half, helped by three consecutive steals by Lopez. Patrick Connaghan led the UScience fight over the next few minutes as they cut the lead to 48-45 with 7:58 remaining. The Eagles were too much, pulling off the 63-55 victory.
Lopez (16) and Krischer (10) combined to score 26 of the Eagles 35 second half points. They finished with 24 and 17 respectively and were the only Eagles in double-digits. Lopez contributed all over the floor adding five rebounds, four assists, and six steals. Mike Stepvich grabbed seven boards off the bench.
Post will head out to Syracuse next Saturday to take on LeMoyne.
