Game Notes: Eagles Men’s Basketball Open Home Schedule

Post University (0-4) vs. C.W. Post (4-1)

The Post University men's basketball team will play their first game at the Drubner Center of the 2011-2012 season on Wednesday night as they take on C.W. Post. The Eagles are still searching for their first win of the season as they now stand at 0-4 overall.

Scouting The Pioneers
C.W. Post comes into the matchup at 4-1 overall. Their only loss came at the hands of CACC member Chestnut Hill, 93-80. They are currently riding two-game winning streak. The Pioneers have an explosive offense that is averaging 92.6 ppg while shooting over 50% from the floor. Stefan Bonneau leads the scoring with 23.8 ppg and has made 15 three pointers through five games. Tobin Carberry is the second leading scorer with 22.8 ppg. He has also grabbed 7.2 rebounds per contest. The Pioneers received 17 votes in the Preseason NABC Division II Poll.
 
Previous Meetings
The Eagles split a pair of games against the Pioneers last season, with each team winning on their home floor. Early in the season Post took a thrilling 77-73 victory. After being ahead by 10 at halftime, the Eagles stumbled down the stretch and let C.W. Post take a three point lead with one minute remaining. A clutch Spencer Smith three-point play gave the Eagles the victory. In the second matchup, C.W. Post led throughout, beating Post 70-58.

Signs Of Improvement
The Eagles are coming off their highest scoring output of the season, scoring 77 in a loss to Bridgeport last week. Post had four players in double figure scoring, led by Geraldo Fernandez with 24. As a team the Eagles made an impressive 11 three-pointers and shot a season-best 44.3% from the field.
