Game Notes: Men's Basketball Take On In-State Rival Bridgeport

In a game that was originally slated to be the home-opener for the Eagles, the men's basketball team will travel to Bridgeport on Tuesday night still looking to get in the win column. The two teams played in the same tournament to start the season, but have yet to square off this year.
Scouting The Purple Knights
Bridgeport comes into Tuesday night's contest at 1-2, with their victory coming against Southern Connecticut 80-69, in the second round of the Bridgeport Tournament. They are led in scoring by junior guard Darian David, who is averaging 21.7 ppg through three games. Eion Lewis has been averaging 12.7 rebounds and Hakeen Rodriguez has 10.0 asst. pg. The Purple Knights have a high-scoring offense which averages 82.7 ppg, including an impressive 105 point performance against Umass-Lowell.
Previous Meetings
The Eagles didn't play Bridgeport last season. The two teams split their series in the 2009-2010 season with each team winning on the opponent's court. Post took the early season matchup 81-77, holding on after nearly losing a 14 point lead with 10 minutes left. Later in the season, Bridgeport defeated the Eagles 86-72. Trevon Hamlet scored 24 in the loss.
Trying To Find The Offense
Post has had a tough time finding the bottom of the net this season, as they have shot just 33% from the field through three games. They are averaging 51.7 ppg, led by
Zach Krischer with 10.0. Krischer has been on fire from beyond the arc, making seven of his 12 attempts so far. The Eagles have been giving themselves a lot of second chances, with 42 offensive rebounds, but have been unable to convert.
