Box Score

WATERBURY, Conn (October 5, 2011) Renel Dennis led Post University women's soccer to a 3-1 win over Caldwell Wednesday afternoon at Municipal Stadium. The Eagles handed the Cougars their first conference loss in the process while improving to 4-5, 4-3 CACC.

“I thought we worked hard to get this win although we did not play our best,” said Matt Micros, Eagles Head Coach. “We had some luck today with them hitting the cross bar and fighting the wind. Renel had two great finishes and everyone contributed. Danielle Charette and Brina Yanez were strong at center mid today.”

Renel Dennis scored the game's first goal just 1:52 into the contest. The Eagles swiftly moved the ball up field when Brianna Docimo fired a pass to Elin Nyman who slipped it to Dennis for the score.

Caldwell's Ashlee Paknis returned the favor at 9:40 using her left foot to beat Grace McConnell.

At 25:01 Dennis forced Caldwell into giving up a corner kick and she took full advantage of it. Dennis sent the ball into the box and bent it right into the Caldwell goal putting the Eagles up 2-1 in the first half.

In the second half, Elin Nyman received a feed from Brianna Docimo making it 3-1 Post en route to the victory.

Grace McConnell made four saves on the day for the Eagles in the win.

The Eagles return to competition on Saturday at Goldey-Beacom.
