Box Score

WATERBURY, Conn (October 15, 2011) Post University women's soccer fell to the east region's sixth-ranked team Philadelphia on Saturday afternoon, 1-0. The loss puts the Eagles at 6-6-0 (6-4-0) on the season.

The Eagles kept the game scoreless in the first half, despite being outshot 11-2, thanks to the goalkeeping of Grace McConnell who had seven saves in the half. The best chance for Post came with about 10 minutes remaining in the half, on an Elin Nyman shot that was punched away by goalkeeper Kelli Kowalewski.

The Rams got on the board in the 59th minute as Dana Rokoszak found Erin Walter who put it home to take a 1-0 lead. The Eagles had a few late corner kicks but could not find the back of the net.

McConnell ended the game with nine saves and was a major reason why the Eagles remained within striking distance for victory. The Rams outshot Post 21-7, Nyman and Renel Dennis led with two shots apiece.

The women will play their final home game of the year next Saturday afternoon against Holy Family.
