Post University Women's Soccer Losses to Mercy 4-1 in Home Opener

Waterbury, Conn (September 14, 2010) Post University's women's soccer team lost its first home game of the season to Mercy 4-1 Tuesday afternoon. The Eagles are now 0-6 on the season and 0-1 in conference play.

Mercy got on the scoreboard first in the first half of play with an unassisted goal from Shelby Martino, 11:59 into the contest.

Sabrina Sinopoli would respond with her first goal of the season at 13:39 to tie the game and keeping the score 1-1 at the half.

In the second half, Mercy would score back to back goals. The first was scored by Martino and assisted by Jessa Childs with the second being an unassisted marker from Andrea Nash.

Childs would score a goal of her own assisted by Jamie Sable before the game ended giving Mercy a 4-1 victory.

 

The Eagles will be back in action on Saturday against Wilmington at home.
