Concordia (3-3, 2-0 CACC) was led by Argelix Gil with a 21 point, 10 rebound double double including making 15-of-17 on trips to the charity stripe. Brandon Whitaker netted 14 points in the Clipper victory.
Post University built a seven point lead on two different occasions in the first half of play, but still trailed at the half 34-33.
Out of the locker room, Concordia went on a 15-3 run that lasted nearly six minutes before Lopez snapped the streak making a bucket with 13:45 to play in the game.
With 3:48 showing on the scoreboard, Concordia held an 11 point edge, which was cut to three with 46 seconds to play on a Larry Smith tip in. After an Eagle timeout, the Clippers ran the clock down to 15 seconds before Norman Pope threw up a three, missing the shot as William Eason pulled down the offensive board.
Eason was fouled with ten seconds to play by Marquis Grant, making the front end of his two free throws. After missing the second, Smith snatched the rebound, but it was stolen by Whitaker essentially sealing the victory for Concordia.
Lopez would launch one final three pointer as time ran down, but missed with the follow up layup going to Grant for a 77-74 final.
Post University will be back in action Thursday night as they host Felician at the Drubner Center. Tip-off is slated for 8pm.
