Men's Basketball Loses High Scoring Game 105-99 to Bloomfield

WATERBURY, Conn (January 26, 2010) Post University's Men's Basketball team lost a close high scoring game against top ranked Bloomfield Tuesday at the Drubner Center 105-99. The Eagles are 6-13, 2-7 CACC as Bloomfield stays undefeated in conference with a 13-3, 7-0 CACC record.
Spencer Smith scored 24 points to lead the effort for Post University, while 
Trevon Hamlet added 20. Bloomfield's Gage Daye netted 26 points and 11 rebounds. 
By the eleven minute mark of the first half, the Eagles were able to build a 21-9 lead. Three consecutive unanswered three point field goals from the Deacons would close the gap. Bloomfield gained momentum for the rest of the half and led at the break, 42-34.
With just over ten minutes to play in the game, Bloomfield had a 17 point lead. The Eagles took advantage of a scoring drought by capitalizing on layup opportunities cutting the margin to as little as 3. Down the stretch Bloomfield made seven straight free throws to hold onto a 105-99 point win.
Post University will be back in action again on Thursday night at home against Felician. Tip-off is set for 8pm.
