Post University Hosts Bloomfield for Basketball Double Header Tuesday Night

WATERBURY, Conn (January 25, 2010) Post University's Men's and Women's Basketball teams will host Bloomfield College in a conference doubleheader at the Drubner Center Tuesday night. Both the Men's and Women's teams are coming off wins last weekend against Chestnut Hill. Bloomfield's two teams are ranked first in the CACC.

Men's Basketball:

Saturday's 74-70 win over Chestnut Hill was the second conference win of the season for the Eagles, and it could not have come at a better time. Bloomfield currently holds a 12-3, 6-0 CACC record. 

Bloomfield junior Gage Daye, leads the CACC in scoring with 26.3 points per game and has been named Player of the Week three times. Daye is also strong on the defensive side of the ball with the most steals in the CACC at 2.8 per game. 

As a team, Bloomfield leads the league in scoring with 84 points per game and is pulling down the most offensive rebounds. 

The Eagles are strong on the defensive glass with 26.22 defensive rebounds per game, which is second among the CACC. Trevon Hamlet continues to impress as a freshman having scored over 300 points to this point in the season and is 8th in the conference scoring.

Women's Basketball:
Monique Chance
Post University's Women's Basketball team took a convincing 72-49 point win over Chestnut Hill Saturday. Sophomore Monique Chance had a breakthrough performance scoring 15 points with 13 rebounds in the winning effort. 

Bloomfield is coming into the game as the top ranked Women's team in the CACC holding a 6-8, 6-1 CACC record. The last time out the Deacons hosted Georgian Court winning 66-60.

The Deacons are led by Tiffany McDaniel with 9.5 points per game and 7.3 rebounds. McDaniel is coming off a productive week earning CACC Player of the Week after averaging 12.3 points per game last week. Nicole Hawkins pulls in 9.7 rebounds per game.  

For Post University, Aubrey Latham continues to lead the team offensively scoring 12.3 points per game.
