WATERBURY, Conn (December 28, 2009) Post University's Men's Basketball team will play two final games before the New Year ending a five game road trip. On Tuesday, the Eagles will take on the St. Anselm Hawks for the second consecutive game. Wednesday, Post University will play Bentley. Both games begin at 3pm and will be played at the University of Bridgeport.
Last time out:
Last time out, the Eagles played a road game against St. Anselm losing 80-72. Post University led by as much as 11 in the opening half, but the Hawks recovered to earn the victory.
Scouting St. Anselm:
In the game against the Eagles, St. Anselm's Thomas Baudinet scored 23 points and pulled down 10 rebounds. On average Baudinet leads the Hawks in scoring with 16.0 points and 6.7 rebounds per game. Greg Vetrano is second with 14.6 points per game.
Scouting Bridgeport:
The Purple Knights have 3 scoring threats in Jermaine Washington (17.1ppg), Dave Boykin (16.6ppg), and Steve Martin (14.8ppg). On the glass, Tim Cokley is gathering 7.4 rebounds per game.
Bridgeport is currently 5-3 overall with a loss the last time out against Merrimack on the road. The loss snapped a 5 game winning streak.
Scouting Post University:
The Eagles continue to see fantastic performances by its freshmen class. In the last game against St. Anselm, two time CACC Rookie of the Week award winner Trevon Hamlet tallied 23 points and 7 rebounds.
To this point in the season, Hamlet has scored 142 points and has started in all 9 games. Last season, Brandon Romain became the most talented freshman the Eagles had ever seen scoring 457 points in his freshman season. In the first 9 games of Romain's collegiate career, he scored 135 points meaning Hamlet is on pace to reset the record books at Post University.
