Jonathan Begley

Jonathan Begley was named the Head of Strength & Conditioning at Post University in October of 2022. In his role Coach Begley oversees all aspects of the programming for our 17 varsity programs.  

Before coming to Post, Coach Begley was the Assistant Director of Sports Performance at Fairfield University where he worked directly with 5 programs, Baseball, Softball, Women’s Basketball, Volleyball, and Men’s Soccer, while assisting with other programs.  While there Coach Begley helped develop nutrition guidelines and a fueling station for all student athletes.  During his 8 years there he helped his teams win 13 conference championships, gain national rankings and go to 15 NCAA tournaments. He also had many athletes go on to be professionals in the MLS, Minor Leagues, WNBA and overseas. He also had athletes perform on the international stage as Olympians and Paralympians.

Coach Begley is a 2013 graduate of Cornell University with a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and a minor in Applied Exercise Science and earned his MBA from Fairfield University in 2020. While at Cornell Coach Begley was a guard on the Big Red’s offensive line

Coach Begley is a Member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association and Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association. He holds CSCS, SCCC, Reflexive Performance Reset level 2 and Precision Nutrition level 1 certifications and is also CPR and AED certified.

Coach Begley is a native of Shelton where he lives with his wife, Amanda, and four daughters Morgan, Charlotte, Nora and Jane.
