Tyler Casillo

A Buffalo, New York native, Casillo brings a proven track record of player development, program building, recruiting, and winning to Post University. His coaching career has taken him from junior hockey to the GOJHL, USPHL and NCDC levels, where he has consistently helped programs reach new heights while advancing players to the next level.

Casillo grew up playing hockey in the Buffalo area with the Cheektowaga Warriors before continuing his playing career with the Buffalo Regals and Niagara Whalers. He later played collegiately at Erie College before transitioning into coaching. In his first season behind the bench, Casillo guided his U18 team to a sectional final while helping multiple players advance to junior hockey. That success led to an opportunity to return to the Buffalo Jr. Regals of the GOJHL as head coach.

During his inaugural season with the Jr. Regals, Casillo led the program to the best record in franchise history and was named a finalist for Coach of the Year. Most notably, 14 players from the program went on to earn NCAA commitments during his tenure. Casillo continued his coaching career with the San Diego Sabers of the USPHL, where he helped transform the program into one of the league's top teams. After the organization recorded just 15 wins the previous season, Casillo guided the team to a 33-11-2 record, establishing a franchise record for wins and leading the Sabers to their first-ever playoff appearance.

He later joined the Atlanta Madhatters, serving as Head Coach and General Manager of the organization's USPHL Premier and Elite teams. Under his leadership, the Premier team earned the franchise's first-ever playoff victory, while the Elite team produced a franchise-best 27-13-2 record, earning the program's first national appearance and first national tournament victory. Most recently, Casillo served as Associate Head Coach and Assistant General Manager of the West Chester Wolves' NCDC program, where he helped lead the team to the playoffs in their inaugural season. Casillo helped build the program from the ground up, turning West Chester into one of the premier junior hockey destinations in the country, proudly sending over 40 players in two seasons to NCAA, ACHA and professional levels.
