Steve Sokol enters his 11th year in charge in 2023-24 and serves as head coach of both the men's and women's golf programs. A 2001 NCAA Division II National Champion and Academic All-American, Sokol is an active touring golf professional and won the 2003 Connecticut Open.
In 2016, Sokol mentored the Eagles men's golf team to its 11th NCAA Regional appearance.

Sokol took over the program prior to the spring season in 2013 and helped lead the Eagles to their ninth-straight NCAA Regional appearance. Thomas Rees and Ross Earnshaw were each named Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-Ameican Scholars. Rees also earned PING All-East Region. In 2013 the program won the GCAA Academic National Championship for having the highest GPA in NCAA Division II for the second consecutive year.

He also served as an assistant golf professional at H Smith Richardson Golf Club and Candlewood Valley Country Club. Sokol played in numerous PGA Tour and Nationwide events including the 2004 US Open at Shinnecock Hills.

Sokol played collegiate golf at Florida Southern College and received his bachelor’s degree in Business/Sport Management.Â
