Ben Horwitz joins the Post University men's basketball coaching staff as an assistant coach for the 2017-18 season. Horwitz, a West Hartford native, most recently served as the head student manager for the Syracuse men's basketball team under Hall of Fame coach Jim Boeheim.
At Syracuse, Horwitz worked closely with Assistant Coach Gerry McNamara and the guards. The Orange reached the Final Four in 2016 and seven players were drafted to the NBA during his time working with program.Â
He also served as the head coach of the Syracuse men's club basketball team for three years
Howitz has been involved as a coach/counselor at a variety of basketball camps including USA Basketball Coach's Academy, Philadelphia 76ers Camp, Jim Boeheim Camp, Ed Cooley Basketball Camp, Boston College Camp, and the Kevin Ollie Basketball Camp.

His twin brother, Dan, played at Newbury College for four years and will be working under Head Coach James Cosgrove at Trinity College (Conn.) as an assistant coach for the 2017-2018 season.
Horwitz graduated from Syracuse with a degree in sport management from the David B. Falk College of Sport and Human Dynamics in 2017.
