Ross Ragonesi will be heading into his third season as Defensive Coordinator in 2025.

During the 2024 season, Ragonesi guided Sophomore Linebacker Mike Gabettie to a 2nd Team All-NE10 selection. Gabettie finished the season #1 in the country in solo tackles per game (7.4) and tied for #1 in total tackles per game (13.6). The Post defense finished the season ranked 3rd in the conference in total takeaways.

Before joining Post, Ragonesi spent 5 seasons at Long Island University as Safeties Coach. In his last season with the Sharks, he helped guide safety Victor Nelson to a HERO Sports FCS Sophomore All-American nod and a 1st Team All-NEC selection. Nelson finished first in the NEC in interceptions and total passes defended. During the spring season of 2021, he helped guide the Sharks defense to lead the NEC in interceptions. In 2019, the first FCS season for LIU, Ragonesi guided strong safety Liam McIntyre to a HERO Sports Freshman All-American Honorable Mention selection.

During the final year of LIU’s Division 2 membership in 2018, Ragonesi helped guide the team to a 10-1 record and a NE10 Conference title. He guided safeties Kasim Thomas and Zach Cofrancesco to second team and third All-NE10 selections, respectively. He also helped the defense climb to a national ranking of 4th in points per game allowed and 12th in team passing efficiency defense. Ragonesi joined LIU from the University of Rochester, where he coached the secondary for one season. Prior to Rochester, he was an assistant coach at his alma mater, SUNY Brockport, for three seasons, primarily working with the secondary.

He guided multiple players to All-Empire 8 Conference selections. Ragonesi was a four-year starter at free safety at Brockport and was one of the Golden Eagles team captains in his 2013 senior campaign.

He was a 2011 All-NJAC selection. He was a 2014 graduate from Brockport, earning a bachelor's degree in Kinesiology, while also minoring in coaching.
