Matt Burns joins the Post University baseball staff for the 2017 season. Burns comes to Post after serving as a graduate assistant with Franklin Pierce. He specialized in working with the infielders, outfielders, and hitters. Prior to his time with the Ravens, Burns was the hitting coach of the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs of the Futures Collegiate Baseball League this past summer. He also spent time as the assistant coach of Cheshire Legion Baseball.

Burns was a two-time All-Northeast 10 honoree at Southern Connecticut State. In his final season with the Owls in 2015, he led the team with a .356 batting average, 11 doubles, and 28 stolen bases. He played for Franklin Pierce in 2016 as the Ravens were ranked as high as No. 1 in Division II and advanced to the College World Series.
