Joseph Zanghi begins his first season as assistant baseball coach for the 2023 season.
Zanghi was originally drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the 24th round of the 2015 Amateur Draft out of Cumberland Community College in Rowan, N.J.
Zanghi most recently was a member of the New York Mets organization after he was drafted in the 24th round of the from 2016-22 playing rookie ball all the way to Triple-A.Â
While playing for the Mets organization, Zanghi had a career 3.28 ERA with ten wins, 20 saves and 302 strikeouts in 284.1 innings pitched. He struck out 46 batters while playing for the Triple-A affiliate Binghamton Mets in his final season in just 30 innings pitched with a 2.70 ERA.
Zanghi was also a coach at The Clubhouse in Fairfield, Connecticut, an indoor baseball facility that helps with player development. While there, he has helped over 100 players achieve their dream and play baseball at the NCAA level. He also coached travel league baseball and hosted individual pitching lessons.
During his college playing days, Zanghi pitched in the 2014 season with Southern New Hampshire before becoming a player at Cumberland County Community College.
Zanghi is a native of Milford, CT.
