ALLENDALE, Mich. – On day two of the Hampton Inn and Suites Grand Rapids Downtown Classic, the Eagles dropped both matches, the first one to Seton Hill University (Pa.) and the second to Northwood University.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Coming off a pair of Friday afternoon games in which they went 0-2, the Eagles had the opportunity to reset and even their record over the second day of the tournament, 2-2.
Starting set one, the Eagles kept it within five points, but five kills from Catie Flohr and three more from Emma Meurer kickstarted the Griffins to a 21-16 lead. A kill from Duru Karagoz on the Eagles' side of the net weakened the Griffins' lead by one, but the Eagles then allowed their opponent a 4-0 run to finish the set.
Midway through the second set at 12-11 in the Griffins' favor, a slew of Seton Hill kills and Post attack errors put the Griffins ahead suddenly, 18-11. The rest of the set fell into a back-and-forth battle as the Eagles fought hard, keeping themselves in the game courtesy of three set kills and a block from junior middle blocker, Alani Duncan, but Seton Hill put the set away, 25-21.
Trying to avoid a bout of deja vu, the Eagles needed to win a set to keep the match going, still in search of their first set win in the tournament, but after another back-and-forth match in which the Eagles' scoring runs dwindled, the Griffins secured the three-set victory with a 25-19 third set win.
Kelsea Moore, the Eagles' best hitter thus far add five kills to her resume, attacking at a .120 clip and passing up eight digs. Two Post setters, Grace Tucker and Katalin Kovacs, combined for 19 assists. Lily Kunselman had ten digs with Vivien Andrea Fehervari directly behind with eight.
The Eagles would continue their day in a couple short hours in their final game of the tournament against Northwood.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Down to the final match of the tournament without a set won, Post, attempting to add a second win to their resume this season, totaled 82 attacks in the match, outscoring Northwood by five, but the Eagles, led by Abi Thie in the match with five kills, totaled just 18 kills to the Timberwolves' 36.
They finished the match at a -.073 clip with 24 errors, almost three times as many as their efficient opponent who finished with nine in the Timberwolves' 3-0 win.

Post will return to Connecticut before traveling to Dobbs Ferry, New York on Tuesday, September 8 where they will take on Mercy University.
