BUFFALO, N.Y. – 25 consecutive points in the second half for Villa Maria College would help lead the Vikings past Post University Women's Flag Football in the first of two games on Saturday for the Eagles, who had their two-game winning streak snapped with the 32-12 loss, in the team's first-ever road game in program history.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Sophomore quarterback Brianna Shalinsky threw four touchdown passes for the Vikings, going 11-for-21 in the air for 145 passing yards in the first win of the season for the Vikings, who entered the day 0-1 on the season. Shalinsky gave Villa Maria its first lead of the game in the first quarter, hooking up with freshman tight end Angelina Green for the 12-yard touchdown grab, as she was one of four different Viking receivers to catch a touchdown pass from Shalinsky in the victory.

Delia Kotsaftis matched Shalinsky's first touchdown pass with a 41-yard strike of her own to freshman wide receiver
Aniyah Booker, which helped the Eagles get within one, 7-6, after the failed point-after-attempt. The teams would head into the break with the score remaining in the game before Kotsaftis and freshman wide receiver
Rihanna Boland connected on a 14-yard strike to give Post their first and only lead of the contest, 13-12.
In response, the Vikings would score the final 25 points of the game as Shalinsky threw three second-half touchdown passes, followed by a punt return touchdown from senior wide receiver Kiara Mercado of 42 yards to end the scoring streak and give Villa Maria the victory, 32-12. In the ground game, the Vikings were responsible for 121 rushing yards across seven different rushers compared to 109 rushing yards for the Eagles, led by 46 yards from Kotsaftis on 10 carries.
In addition to the punt return touchdown, Mercado had a team-best 66 receiving yards on three receptions for a touchdown grab, while Booker led Post with 83 receiving yards on six receptions with one touchdown catch. Sophomore defensive back
