HOW IT HAPPENED
Like the first game of the day, it was all Eagles from the very beginning as they had their way with both Lundyn Benjamin and Nicole Spinelli, who were under center for the Bobcats. On the very first drive of the game for Bryant and Stratton, Benjamin would get picked off by freshman safety
Aniyah Booker, who, for the second time on the afternoon, returned the interception to the house, this time for a 65-yard score that got the Eagles on the board right away.
That interception was the first of four that the Eagles would snag as Boland had two in the first half and another in the second half to lead a Post defense that allowed just 13 points between the two games. Benjamin would run in the only touchdown the Bobcats had, a five-yard scramble at the end of the third, which cut into an Eagle lead that had grown to 18 points already.
After the Booker pick for a score in the first half, junior quarterback
Delia Kotsaftis went to work again, hitting sophomore wide receiver
Hannah Vancise with a 10-yard touchdown pass, before junior wide receiver
Melanie Carrasco rushed in an 11-yard score for the offense in the second to build the Eagle lead to 18 points going into halftime.
Kotsaftis threw her second touchdown pass of the game in the second half, a 15-yard hookup with freshman wide receiver
Wilma Fjall in the fourth, to cap off her 5-for-10 game in the air for 45 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception. Post's ground game elicited 179 rushing yards among six different players as sophomore running back
Hanna Solis led the way with 64 rushing yards on seven carries.
