Brazeau scores first collegiate goal in Women's Ice Hockey's 1-2 loss to Franklin Pierce

RINDGE, N.H. (Nov. 6, 2026) -- Women's Ice Hockey lost to New England Women's Hockey Alliance opponent, Franklin Pierce University, Friday night, 1-2, unable to complete the comeback.

THE BASICS

HOW IT HAPPENED

In the introductory period, the Eagles and Ravens each took around the same number of shots, the Ravens with a one-shot edge over the Eagles, 9-8. Post's defensemen, however, blocked five Ravens shots, finding a way to put themselves between their undefeated conference foe's forwards and their own goalie, Alex Young.

Without either goalie giving up a first period score, the Ravens entered the second period with something to prove, outshooting the Eagles, 18-2 after beginning the period almost immediately with a power-play, kickstarting their momentum on home ice. Although unable to convert on their first or second power-play opportunity of the period, Franklin Pierce's Caleigh Murphy ended up firing into Young's net just six minutes into the second, unassisted, with Abigail Broz doing the same at 15:44 into the period on her team's third power-play. Ashley Wright and Anna Caumo assisted.

Post aimed to match the offensive effort of their aggressor in the third period, putting up 11 shots, but the scoring attempts came too late as freshman, Madison Brazeau, scored her first collegiate goal at 17:16 in the third period, assisted by freshman, Ellie Rawlick. The Eagles took three shots after the goal, hoping to send the game to an overtime period, but each attempt met the force of a Raven, blocked before reaching its target.

Kai Hyatt, Celena Mickevicius and Flora Pasztor each took three shots in the game, no other Eagle topping them.

Alex Young finished with 34 saves, boosting her save percentage on the season to .908 on the season.
