HOW IT HAPPENED
Post Universtiy started the game with a Nick Jermolenko penalty just 34 seconds into the game which gave Massachesetts College of Liberal Arts a man up advantage. Sophomore forward AJ Guzzardi stole the puck from MCLA and raced down the ice and snuck one past the goalie to give Post an early 1-0 lead on the man down advantage.

MCLA responded in the 18th minute of the game with a gal from Cade Herrera which was assisted by Seasn Schifferl and Shane Green. The score remained tied going into the second period.

The Eagles would go on to score two second peiord goals to give them a 3-1 lead going into the third period. Gavin Torkoff made it 2-1 Eagles with his goal in the 9th minute of the second period after a shot from Owen Norman that launched the puck into the air and came down and found Torkoffs stick for the goal. Norman would score the Eagles third goal of the game in the 17th minute of the second period after an assist from Eoin Reager and Harrison Browning, extending the Eagles lead to 3-1.

The Eagles could not put MCLA away as they came back in the third period with two goals of their own, first from Quinn Murphy which was a short handed goal for the Mountain Lions. MCLA would score again in the 13th minute with a goal from Christopher Gallagher which tied the game at three a piece and send the game to over time.

With 4:18 left in the game Bradley McMains received a five minute major for contact to the head which resulted in his disqualification from the game and forced Holden Beckett to serve the five minute major. This proved to be a very costly penalty for the Eagles as they would end up losing in over time just seconds after the major ran out.

John Simon started in net for the Eagles playing the full time in this one as he recorded 23 saves and allowed four goals.
