WATERBURY, Conn. -- In what was a week to remember for Post University Athletics, sophomore Alex Cole from Post University Men's Cross Country and junior
Ana Vasilis from Post University Women's Tennis rounded things out with Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Weekly Honor Roll mentions, becoming the seventh and eight Eagles honored this week alone for their performances as announced by the league office on Monday night and Tuesday morning.
Alex Cole - Honor Roll - Men's Cross Country
Cole had his best overall finish of the season, finishing sixth at the Caldwell Cougar Chase, which was an 8K race, in 31:03.00 in just his second race for Post.
Ana Vasilis - Honor Roll - Women's Tennis
Vasilis made a run at the ITA Regionals for the Women's Open Singles individual title for Post, in the only competition the Eagles had this week. After one match against Dominican (N.Y.), the Eagles' match was postponed due to the weather. Vasilis defeated Emma Gredenhag in the Round of 64, 6-3 and 6-1, while partnering with sophomore
Julie Merlin to beat Xu Jedidah and Annabelle Aldrete in the Round of 32 Doubles match, 8-1. On Saturday, Vasilis advanced to the Round of 16 with a win against Ela Vasic of Queens College, 6-3 and 6-1, before falling to Adelphi's Roisin Boyd, 6-0 and 6-1. In the Doubles, she and Merlin would fall to Boyd and Katarina Liedbeck, 8-1, in the Round of 16.
