ORANGEBURG, N.Y. -- The streak of three consecutive CACC North Division crowns will come to an end this season for Post University Baseball, as the Eagles were swept by Dominican (N.Y.) in their Sunday road doubleheader, ensuring they cannot finish higher than the third seed in the North Division for the CACC Tournament. Losing 20-18 and 13-6, Post is now on a five-game losing streak overall and in conference play, sinking them to 22-12 this season against conference foes, while the Chargers wrapped up their first division title since 2011, owning the tiebreaker over Felician University.
The hot streak of the Golden Falcons had propelled them four games ahead of the Eagles and two games behind the Chargers in the win column with two games to go this week. Post will take on Felician, who will get the North Division two seed, in a best-of-three series on the road starting this Friday, with an if necessary game three taking place on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Senior third baseman
Justin Rivera was a force for the Eagles across the doubleheader as he was 6-for-9 with two doubles, a home run, seven RBIs, and four runs scored despite the sweep. Rivera had a four-RBI outing in game one, going 4-for-5 with four RBIs and three runs scored, while falling just a triple short of the cycle. Graduate outfielder
Jaylen Kelley also had four RBIs in game one, being one of four Post players with multi-RBI games to help the Eagles attempt to make a comeback after trailing by 10 runs, 12-2, heading into the seventh.
16 runs came across the plate for Post in the seventh and eighth innings combined, pushing their run total to 18 for the game, but the continued pitching struggles for the Eagles were taken advantage of by the Chargers to the tune of eight of their own runs in the same span, allowing them to maintain a two-run lead for the 20-18 slugfest win. Freshman outfielder Erick Diaz and junior infielder David Knepper each had four RBIs in the game one win as they attacked six different Post pitchers who entered the affair.
In all, the Eagles would use eight arms in the 14 innings they played, with neither sophomore right-hander
Zion Fraser nor senior right-hander
Justin Portes lasting more than two innings in their starts across both games. The starting pitching for Post accounted for 15 runs on 12 hits with four walks and a strikeout, but despite only two unearned runs, the innings would be extended due in part to five total errors by the defense.
Seven total errors by the Dominican (N.Y) defense helped lead the comeback charge in game one for Post, while resulting in six unearned runs throughout the afternoon by six different pitchers on the mound for the Chargers. Game two started off with a five-run lead for the Eagles as Rivera's day continued with a two-run double in the first inning, but 11 unanswered runs would be the undoing of the 5-0 lead, primarily in the eight-run second inning that Dominican (N.Y.) put together.
Freshman infielder Byron Arias plated three runs in the come-from-behind win for the Chargers, going 2-for-4 with a run scored in that 13-6 win. In all, Dominican's (N.Y.) offense pounded out 33 runs on 32 hits and left 14 runners stranded on base, while Post slugged in 24 runs on 28 hits, but stranded 18 runners, including 12 in the first game.
Between the two teams, only two pitchers allowed no runs in sophomore right-hander Sebastian Velazquez for the Eagles in his 2/3 inning of work to get out of the eighth inning in game one, and sophomore right-hander Josh Harrison for the Chargers in game two, who worked a scoreless final inning in the sweep.
