Women's Lacrosse Ends 2025 Campaign with 20-1 Loss to Dominican (N.Y.)

WATERBURY, Conn. – Sophomore attacker Macy Peterson scored the only goal of the afternoon for Post University Women's Lacrosse in its 2025 season finale at LaMoy Field against 24th-ranked Dominican (N.Y.) on Wednesday afternoon. The Eagles would fall to the Lady Chargers for the 20th consecutive time in the all-time series, 20-1, ending the season with an 0-10 overall and 0-9 in conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Junior attacker Madelyn Grella erupted for five goals and 10 assists, totaling 15 points for Dominican (N.Y.) as she was part of 15 of a possible 20 goals for the visitors in the affair. Grella was one of only two Lady Chargers to finish with a hat trick, alongside graduate attacker Grace DeStasio, with four goals and one assist for a total of five points, while freshman attacker Madison Mileti had an eight-point outing with two goals and six assists.

Nine different players found the back of the net on Wednesday for a Dominican (N.Y.) team that out shot Post, 34-6 overall, and 28-2 in shots on goal, while also holding them to zero shots in the first 15 minutes of action. Graduate goalie Lauren Bain made 10 saves for the Eagles between the pipes, while four different goalies made an appearance for the Lady Chargers, resulting in graduate goalie Kristinamarie Kaszovitz earning the win in 20 minutes of playing time, making two saves, and allowing no goals. 

Assisting Peterson with her goal in the fourth quarter, junior attacker Niky Johnson registered her third assist of the season, while the goal for Peterson was the second of her year, with the first coming against Holy Family University back on March 30th. Only 21 combined ground balls were produced in the game, with Dominican (N.Y.) holding a 17-4 edge, while also dominating the turnover battle by a 20-6 margin in the 19-goal win. 

BY THE NUMBERS
  • Alyssa Hebb ends the season with a team-high eight goals in 10 games, while winning nine draw controls for Post University 
  • In the final game of her collegiate career, Lauren Bain made 10 stops on 30 attempts by Dominican (N.Y), bringing her to 232 saves at Post University to end the season 
  • Ending the season 0-10, this is the third time in program history that Post University has finished winless, doing so in its inaugural season back in 2010 as well as 2015 – The Eagles had won at least five games in each of the last four seasons 
  • In the all-time series, Post University remains winless against Dominican (N.Y.), dropping to 0-20, while allowing 20-plus goals in the last five head-to-head matchups since 2022
