WATERBURY, Conn. -- Making it two seasons in a row, senior forward
Deng Deang was named to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference's All-Conference First Team while senior guard
Bol Akot did the same with the conference's Second Team for Post University Men's Basketball in the end of the year release by the conference office. Also being released were awards on the women's side in which sophomore forward
Alyssa Rossignol landed on the All-Conference Third Team for Post University Women's Basketball.
A one-time Player of the Week as well as four-time Honor Roll recipient this season, Deang posted nearly identical numbers to last season in less games played, missing five in the regular season due to injury. Across 23 games in which he averaged 29.7 minutes per game, Deang averaged 16.9 points and 7.3 rebounds per game while garnering four double-doubles throughout his campaign. The senior lowered his turnover numbers, committing only 62 while also recording less fouls with only 64 this year. From the field, Deang shot 44.6% overall, 38.7% from three-point range, and 81.9% from the free-throw line.Â
Earning one Defensive Player of the Week and CACC Honor Roll accolade, Akot appeared in all 28 regular season games for Post, averaging 14.2 points and 4.8 rebounds per game while reaching double-digit scoring in 23 of those 28 games, including a stretch of 15 consecutive games. Akot has averaged just under 34 minutes per game while shooting 38.7% from the field, 31.8% from three-point range, and 72.6% from the free-throw line. The senior has also boasted similar steal, assist, and block numbers as he did a year ago during the 2023-24 season.
On the women's side, Rossignol also had a pair of weekly accolades to her name as a one-time Player of the Week and two-time CACC Honor Roll recipient en route to her Third Team honor. In 25 games so far this year, Rossignol has led the way for the Eagles with 13.2 points per game while finishing third on the team in rebounds with 4.6 per game. The sophomore missed three games towards the end of the year due to injury, but recorded 16 games with double-digit points, including a career-high 32 points against Chestnut Hill College at home. Rossignol is currently shooting 41.1% from the floor, 26.5% from three-point range, and 76.7% from the free-throw line.Â
