WATERBURY, Conn. -- A little over 24 hours after being named All-District First Team by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC), senior forward
Deng Deang has been invited to join the NABC Division II College All-Star Game this Friday, March 28th, at 6:30 PM CST (7:30 PM EST), marking the first time in program history that a player from Post University Men's Basketball will participate in the game.
The invite comes after a stellar season for Deang, which will see him play alongside fellow Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference player Jaden Honis of Dominican (N.Y.) on the East All-Star Team. This season, the senior from St. Cloud, Minnesota was a four-time Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Honor Roll mention to go along with his Player of the Week honor as well. Playing in 26 games and starting 23 of them, the forward averaged 30 minutes per game while going off for 17.3 points and 7.4 rebounds per game for the Eagles.
From the field, Deang shot an impressive 45.6% and 37.8% from three-point land while going 87-for-104 from the free-throw line, netting him an 83.7% mark. The numbers netted Deang his second straight CACC All-Conference First Team honor as well as the aforementioned NABC All-District First Team award for the first time in his career.
